GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:


Vacation coverage on job description 0141.02.00 Slide Gate Operator, and 0141.03.00 Ladle Refiner.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


The main job of vacation coverage is to cover vacation when someone else in the Ladle Prep area takes vacation. The job that you will cover will be determined by your Group leader.


SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


  1. Help out on any job that the Group Leader, Shift Lead, or Supervisor needs

  1. When time allows you will need to train on all jobs that you do not know how to do such as working on the deck turning ladles.

  1. Once you have all jobs down, then you will need to do a job on day shift and let the person that normally does that job move up and train on the next job above them.

  1. Work schedule can and will change from week to week. NO SET SCHEDULE.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:


High school diploma and or equivalent. Complete understanding of the LMF/LSS at a minimum Be able to operate a fork lift. Be able to work alone with good time management skills. Good communication skill's. Ability to work a inconsistent schedule.



PHYSICAL ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Mobility in plant.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand.
  • The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Visual ability with or without correction.
  • Communication abilities.
  • Ability to work a rotating shift (rotating from days to nights on a weekly or bi-weekly schedule)

HEALTH AND SAFETY

  1. Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations.
  2. Follow Company safety rules.
  3. Report the absence of or defect in any protective equipment or clothing to the Supervisor or Manager immediately.
  4. Use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that is required to be used or worn:
    • Safety shoes
    • Safety glasses
    • Hearing protection
  5. Report to the Safety Coordinator, Group Lead or Supervisor any contravention of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations or Company policy.
  6. Must follow all Lock out Tag out (LOTO) guidelines for designated machines.
  7. Maintain a clean and safe work area.
