GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
The License Compliance Officer is responsible for monitoring and validating software license
compliance, creating and maintaining policies related to licensing compliance, reporting the
status of compliance, and working with auditors (as needed) to answer compliance inquiries.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The essential job functions of this position are as follows.
• Continually review all software assets in use at the company to ensure compliance with
the manufacturer's license requirements and agreements.
• Adjust license levels for software assets as needed to remain in compliance.
• Review and/or participate in approved purchases of software to determine the proper
licensing for use by the company.
• Participate in the Information Systems (IS) Request process for software assets to
validate license requirements, costing, and granting of licenses for approved requests.
• Stay current with changes to vendors' licensing models and metrics
• Stay current with changes to technology and information in the field of software licensing
and compliance.
• Customer Service - Manage difficult customer situations; respond promptly to customer
needs; solicit customer feedback to improve service; respond to requests for service and
assistance; and meet commitments.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Attention to detail
• Communications skills
• Knowledge of theories, principles, and practices of information technology,
organizational structure, and business administration
• Knowledge of state procurement laws and practices relative to information technology
• Ability to analyze vendor licensing models and cost scenarios of alternative options to
determine optimal licensing and deployment strategies
• Analytical ability to assess and solve complex problems to devise methodologies and
solutions
• The ability to clearly and concisely form and express ideas and concepts
• Knowledge or experience in information technology related areas are preferred
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Must be a highly motivated self-starter who is eager to contribute to overall department
and company success


PHYSICAL ABILITIES REQUIRED:
• Mobility in plant
• While performing the duties of License Compliance Officer, the employee is regularly
required to sit, stand, walk, etc.
• The employee is frequently required to make use of their hands for technical tasks.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Visual ability with or without correction
• Communication abilities


HEALTH AND SAFETY:
1. Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations
2. Follow Company safety rules
3. Report the absence of or defect in any protective equipment or clothing to the Supervisor
or Manager immediately
4. Use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that is required to be used or
worn:
a. Safety shoes
b. Safety glasses
c. Hearing protection
d. Hard Hat
Some areas may require additional personal protective equipment such as:
e. Respirators; the respirator requires you to be clean shaven in order to comply with
company policies and procedures as well as OSHA Regulations.
f. Fire Retardant clothing
g. Acid PPE
5. Report to the Safety Coordinator, Group Lead or Supervisor any contravention of the
Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations or Company policy
6. Must follow all Lock out Tag out (LOTO) guidelines for designated machines
7. Must follow all Environmental Policies and Regulations
8. Maintain a clean and safe work area


WORK ENVIRONMENT:
1. Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations
2. Clean, well ventilated and safe work areas.
